He has a gripe. In 03 I believe it was, his team was #1 in both the AP and Coaches polls only to get left out of the title game. They got a share of the national title via a rose bowl win over Michigan but that was the first time in the history of the game that the #1 team in both polls got knocked out of the #1 spot after winning their bowl game and the only reason that happend is because of contractual obligations that the coaches had to award the BCS winner as the coaches national champion, i.e. the sears trophy.
I dont think hes complaning necessarily about how it affects USC but just the overall system. I think we all know its a bad system and needs a complete overhaul.
